Technologists, Engineers and Developers often study and analyze a new technology or condition with the technology being the most important element of discussion. IT architecture focuses on the impact to the organization being the most important element of the discussion when analyzing technology and design decisions. This is one of the most challenging attributes to understand for new aspiring architects.
in other words:
The center of the universe for technologists, engineers and developers is the specific technology.
The center of the universe for IT Architects is the organization considering using it.
