PBA Zone : Business Environment : Business Process Standards Area

As a business grows, it is inevitably threatened with unmanageable growing cost and complexity. Commonly, in order to reduce this complexity and cost, businesses have adopted process standards to increase predictability, consistency within specific services and products and across multi organizational units and roles. Often, an organization can spend large amounts of money and time retooling with a new process. The cost of adapting a process has been traditionally high. It is important that new solutions from IT positively impact significant investments in business process standards for the organizations.

Of course, some architectural solutions are intentionally designed to be a catalyst of business process change for an organization. However, significant stakeholders and executive sponsors should be supportive before such endeavors are started.
