PBA Zone : Business Environment : Industry Regulations and Laws Area

Unique regulations and laws in the market can significantly impact and be impacted by an architectural design. While rarely does an architect have legal training and accreditation, it often doesn’t stop them from making significant legal impact generalizations concerning specific architectural decisions.

Laws impacting organizations and businesses have become significantly more complex in the last twenty years. No longer can architects design enterprise systems with a simple undergraduate business law class. They must understand the significant legal and regulatory issues that impact their market, their industry, their business and especially their architectural choices.

Architects must now have continuous dialogue with corporate legal counsel to review corporate legal positions in relation to significant architectural decisions in the organization.
