PBA Zone : IT Environment : Recoverability Systems Area

 

All solutions at all layers and all tiers must demonstrate a solid ability to be managed by the organization’s continuance/disaster recovery and basic

recoverability systems and processes. These systems are often composed of many different elements aligned with varying degrees of capability based on the organization’s ranked value of each solution. It is important that the solution’s design be properly aligned with the IT environment’s continuance, disaster recovery and recoverability systems.

Continuance & Disaster Recovery Systems:

Systems designed to deliver different levels of execution capability of a solution’s business value when catastrophic events are experienced.

Backup Recovery Systems:

The normal day to day backup and recovery systems utilized in the normal maintenance and operations of various solutions system elements.

a) What is the Continuance and Disaster Recovery Architecture/Systems within the IT Organization?

b) What back-up and recovery architectures exist for the IT organization?

c) How do solutions and users capitalize on the backup and recovery services?
