Analyzing and Documenting Requirements has long been the focus of many methodologies and frameworks for professionals.   Besides learning the technical basics of the profession,  requirements analysis and documentation is the most basic skill for an IT architect today.

Some have argued that IT architecture is just the mapping of the best decisions given a focused set of requirements.  Hence, the only zone to consider is the Requirements Environment.  From decades of failed projects, that reasoning is simply flawed.  Today, we know that IT architects must strive to understand the larger ecosystem beyond the stated requirements in order to design successful solutions.
